Ontario's population is growing, so its energy needs are too. But no one wants a new gas-fired power plant if it's going to be in their own backyard. This month, in WSIC's first event of 2012, U of T's Dr. Kim Pressnail will tell us how Ontario can reduce its need for more power plants in local communities. His solution is to decrease the burden on our energy grid by mandating better building requirements.

Do you agree? Disagree? Do you just want to learn more? Join us and be part of the discussion on Monday January 16th.
This is an evening event, to be held in Toronto at the Duke of York, 39 Prince Arthur Ave.

If you have topic suggestions for future discussions, please let us know by email.  We have an excellent list of exciting speakers planned so far.  Please mark the third Monday of every month (fourth Monday in February because of family day) in your calendars.  A tentative schedule is available on our website.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday season and we look forward to seeing you in the New Year!

Why Should I Care?

Why Should I Care? is a grassroots, community based organization committed to engaging citizens on topics that concern them.

Our mission is to provide an accessible forum where Canadians can discuss, debate, and learn about political issues that affect us all.  By focusing on topics and not ideologies, we break the taboo of discussing politics at the dinner table.

Over beer and food we learn, share, experience, and take action as both Canadians, and members of a broader community.
